What Hue Emulator is:
- A Emulator which allows you to make Wi-Fi smart bulbs, strips and lights Hue compatible. Some of the supported light bulbs are Milight and YeeLight.
What Hue Emulator is NOT:
- A substitute of Hue Bridge – It cannot communicate with ZigBee based Philips Hue bulbs, strips and lights
The Hue Emulator is useful if you want to control non-hue lights from a system like Fibaro Home Center which has built-in support for Philips Hue. What the emulator basically does is, it “lies” the Fibaro Home Center that it is a Hue Bridge and this way you can integrate cheap smart bulbs like Milight and YeeLight in your smart home system.
The Hue Emulator also works fine with Philips Ambilight TVs. Philips TVs have an option called Ambilight + Hue which allows you to further expand the Ambilight light effects by adding additional Hue bulbs in the room for a more immersive experience.
It also works with Hue Sync app for PC and Mac which allows you to sync the sound output of your computer with your lights or sync the colors of your screen with your lights(same as Ambilight)
